Me Time – Taking Time for Yourself

We live in a workaholic culture. Work, work, work. And when you’re not working, you have to work out, take care of the family and home. That little guilty voice in your head can prevent you from taking any time for yourself. All work and no play can leave you with very little energy. And in the end this can mean you’re less efficient and more stressed out.

You need to take some ‘Me Time’, explore your hobbies, your passions and what makes you tick. Or you can just take time to indulge in You and enjoy true relaxation and confidence. Here are a few tips to take more time for yourself.

  1. Plan it

It’s easy to let things go if you don’t plan them. Make a point of letting your family know every Thursday is yoga night. Or movie night with the girls. Whatever floats your boat!

  2. Remember it takes a village

There’s a reason people say it takes a village to raise a child. You can’t always do everything on your own. Fostering a strong group of friends and neighbors will alleviate the stress! Arrange for the guys to watch the kids while the ladies go out. Arrange play dates so the kids can entertain themselves.

  3. Wake Up

Waking up just 30 minutes before everyone else can give you the peace and quiet you need to start the day on the right foot.

  4. Simplify

You don’t have to do everything all at once. You’re not superwoman after all! Allow yourself to say no sometimes. Don’t overschedule your kids or yourself. Sometimes it’s good to just relax.
